Submitting your work

Theatre Depot Project

If you have written (or are writing) a play/musical that you intend to be fully staged, it may be submitted to the Theatre Depot  Project. The Theatre Depot Project (TDP) is open to any writers who would like their work to be fully produced (in a low tech environment) in the Theatre Depot season. The selected submissions will be put through rewrites and labs with the Theatre Depot team and receive a fully realized low tech production project on the Interlochen Arts Academy campus. Theatre Depot will provide actors, directors, producers, and facilities to help writers get their work onstage. Additional project roles may be added at the discretion of Theatre Depot and the creative team. To learn more about how to submit for TDP, click here.

Staged Readings Initiative

Theatre Depot is also very interested in nurturing works that are not quite ready for a fully realized low tech production. The Staged Readings Initiative (SRI) is open to any writers who are interested in further developing their original works in the Theatre Depot season. Writers that are chosen for the Staged Readings Initiative (SRI) will receive more detailed attention on the development of their pieces, and a staged reading on the Interlochen Arts Academy campus. Theatre Depot will provide actors, directors, producers, and facilities to help writers get their work onstage. Additional project roles may be added at the discretion of Theatre Depot and the creative team. To learn more about how to submit for SRI, click here.

Devised Theatre Series

Some writers and artists may have ideas for theatre pieces, but may not have the tools needed to write a detailed script and format for their idea. This is where the Devised Theatre Series (DTS) comes into play. Submissions chosen for DTS will receive a fully realized collaborative and devised theatre work on the Interlochen Arts Academy campus. DTS works will focus on collaborations in an interdisciplinary environment. Theatre Depot will provide actors, directors, producers, and facilities to help writers get their work onstage. Additional projectroles may be added at the discretion of Theatre Depot and the creative team. To learn more about how to submit for DTS, click here.
